Wilhelmsen Ships Service in the Eastern Mediterranean has broken a milestone barrier for its Liferaft Exchange (LRE) programme.

The 600th vessel has just changed over its liferafts in a scheme operated by Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s international network.

Norwegian company OptiMarin says that since the beginning of 2010 it has received a total of eight orders for its ballast water treatment system.
The orders for the type approved OptiMarin ballast system have been placed by major shipyards on behalf of the shipowners, and cover installations in:

· Four platform supply vessels that ‘K’ Line Offshore is building at STX Norway Offshore, Brevik. The vessels are of the STX PSV 06 CD design and the technical management of the vessels is entrusted to OSM Shipmanagement.
