Article 60. The vessel's air conditioning system components shall be kept in good maintenance, operation, control and cleaning conditions.
Sub-article 1. The compartment where the mixing box for outdoor air and return air is located shall be used exclusively for the air conditioning system and other materials, products or utensils are not allowed to be kept in said compartment.


Sub-article 2. After cleaning and disinfection procedures are performed in the air conditioning system, the solid dirt shall be packed into bags made of a strong material and with proper porosity.

Sub-article 3. Outdoor air collection shall be kept whenever possible free from polluting sources by means of a filter, and the air shall be filtered before the mixture of outdoor air and return air takes place.

Article 61. Worksheets concerning maintenance, operation, cleaning and disinfection of the air conditioning equipment as well as any air quality reports shall be submitted to the competent sanitary authority.

Sub-article one. Air quality of environments artificially acclimatized by means of systems with a refrigerating capacity equal to or greater than 5TR(60,000 BTU's) shall be evaluated every six months and it shall meet the physical, chemical and biological parameters defined in the executive resolution RE no. 09, dated 16 January 2003, and any amendments thereto.
