As for the amendments to LSA Code enter into force on 1 July 2010 in accordance with Res.MSC.207(81) and MSC.272(85), the following items are required to be complied with the new standard of Life-saving equipment for the ships the keels of which are laid on or after 1 July 2010.
For the existing ships, the newly installed equipment after the date should comply with the standard in accordance with SOLAS Reg.III/1.4.2. However, if a lifeboat is replaced without replacing its launching appliance, the lifeboat may be of the same type as that replaced. Res.MSC.207(81): 1. Lifebuoys for the quick release type (not less than a mass of 4kg) 2. Lifejackets (accessories of lifting method by rescuer and securing method with another person etc.) 3. Immersion suits (accessories of lifting method by rescuer and securing method with another person etc.) 4. Anti-exposure suits Res.MSC.272(85): 5. Lifeboats (the number of persons having an average mass of 82.5kg for a cargo ship) 6.
